Tomorrow, I get a new knee.
How did I get here?
About a year ago, I started limping. My right knee was bothering me. At just over 64, it was not surprising. After all, Arthritis is the family curse. My sister has been suffering terribly. My brother has been complaining about it for years. I already knew I had it in one weird joint on my right ring finger. So, I went to see my friendly neighborhood Orthopedist, Dr Kerker. After all, he done wonders on my left knee 5 years earlier.
He did the obligatory Xray. Arthritis I asked? Nope, not so much. He thought it was a torn meniscus. Thus began my year with making my knee better.
3 MRI's
2 Meniscus Surgeries
3 Gel Shots
4 Needles inserted to try to block nerves - Hard pass on doing THAT every 6 months
Finally my knee hero, Dr Kerker said he wanted another pair of eyes on this.
Enter Dr. Baez, the king of the knee replacement.
Let's get another Xray while you're here. Surprise!!
You need a knee replacement.
That takes me to tomorrow, Plainview Hospital. 10:30AM Arrival.
Follow my journey with a new body part....
